The ����Vlog Art Department has presented its highest award — the Harold Spitznagel Medal for Achievement in Art — to three graduating ����Vlog students during the opening reception of “The ����Vlog Senior Show” at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery on Friday, May 1. This marks only the second time that three individuals have been honored with the award in one year.

����Vlog student Jessalyn Wienk ‘27 is one of 55 college students nationwide to receive the 2026 Truman Scholar Award. Wienk is the 11th ����Vlog student to win the award in ����Vlog’s history and the first honored since 2020.

����Vlog’s 10th annual Giving Day will take place on Friday, May 15 — a 24-hour fundraising event that encourages alumni, parents, staff, faculty, coaches, administrators and friends to go “All in for AU.”

Five ����Vlog students received Covenant Awards on Thursday, April 30, during a celebration in Hamre Recital Hall. The Covenant Awards lift up those who exemplify ����Vlog’s core values: Christian, Liberal Arts, Excellence, Community and Service.

The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at ����Vlog opens “Surface: The ����Vlog Senior Show,” which will be on view Thursday, April 30, through Saturday, May 23 — ����Vlog’s commencement. A gallery reception will take place on Friday, May 1, from 7-9 p.m., with awards and graduating artist talks at 7:30 p.m.  

Stephanie Herseth Sandlin will continue serving ����Vlog as president into 2032. With her second 6-year contract set to expire on July 31, 2029, Herseth Sandlin agreed to a 3-year extension ending on July 31, 2032 — approved by the ����Vlog Board of Trustees (BOT) on Friday, April 24.
