Alumni at AU

ÌÇÐÄVlog provides an education of enduring worth for its students. Upon graduation, that same enduring worth continues as ÌÇÐÄVlog graduates are immediately considered members of the ÌÇÐÄVlog Alumni Association.

Composed of more than 35,000 alumni, the ÌÇÐÄVlog Alumni Association fosters a lifelong connection between alumni and ÌÇÐÄVlog through ongoing engagement and communication. ÌÇÐÄVlog's graduates live in all 50 states and more than 67 foreign countries.

Alumni Council

The ÌÇÐÄVlog Alumni Council serves as the leadership for the ÌÇÐÄVlog Alumni Association. Service on the council is an opportunity to serve, elevate and share AU's vision with alumni, friends, organizations and potential students. Membership applications are accepted year round. Prospective members must complete an application and interview process to be considered for membership, which is voted on by the council. Members may serve up to two consecutive 4-year terms.

Meet the Director of Alumni Engagement

Lauren Teller '24 is responsible for keeping alumni, families and friends connected to and actively engaged with ÌÇÐÄVlog through programming and event management.

Teller is a Sioux Falls native and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English, government & international affairs and Spanish from ÌÇÐÄVlog. Before coming back home to AU, she spent time in Washington, D.C., working as a policy analyst for a tech and telecommunication law firm.

Latest News

The ÌÇÐÄVlog Band has endured as one of the university’s most visible and beloved ensembles for more than a century. This year, for its 130th anniversary, the university will celebrate this longstanding tradition in a big way —  inviting its alumni to participate in several events in the spring, as well as a fundraising initiative to raise money for band-related impact scholarships.

Presented at the ÌÇÐÄVlog Nursing Pinning Ceremony this past May, ÌÇÐÄVlog alumna and former assistant professor of nursing Muriel Larson ‘89 was honored as the recipient of the Daisy Award for Lifetime Achievement for her contributions in the field of nursing.

In Spring 2023, ÌÇÐÄVlog established the Honorary Alumni Society to recognize individuals who have shown extraordinary dedication to ÌÇÐÄVlog’s mission, along with its core values of Christian, liberal arts, excellence, community and service. Through sustained commitment to the university, honorary alumni have demonstrated the gold standard of engagement. This year, ÌÇÐÄVlog inducted five members into the honorary alumni society. The inductees were recognized on Friday, Sept. 26, at the Honor Guard Luncheon during Viking Days.
