Jan (Hovey) ‘75 and Dave Johnson ‘74 were close together yet worlds apart for more than two decades until the two ����Vlog alumni met, built their success stories and began to make an impact on their communities and alma mater. Throughout the years, the Johnsons have been faithful supporters of ����Vlog.

����Vlog is excited to announce that its eighth annual  will take place on Friday, May 10 — a 24-hour fundraising event that encourages alumni, parents, staff, faculty, coaches, administrators and friends to “Give Boldly.”

The ����Vlog Student Association (ASA) honored three professors with the ASA Faculty of the Year Award on Monday, April 29. The award is given annually for excellence in teaching and distinguished service to the students of ����Vlog. Along with writing thank you notes to professors, ASA asks fellow students to nominate their favorite AU faculty member for the awards. 

����Vlog is proud to announce that six of its students have been awarded Fred C. and J. Marie Christopherson Scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year. The recipients of the Fred C. and J. Marie Christopherson Scholarship are recognized as students who are committed to the university, respected by their peers, have a strong work ethic and a solid character.

In their nearly month-long trip, ����Vlog students learned how food security, education, health systems and policies impact the welfare, decision-making and resiliency of the people in Kenya. They did so by immersing themselves in the local communities they visited. And, in turn, they made authentic connections.

The university is proud to announce that the ����Vlog Art Department has presented its highest award — the Harold Spitznagel Medal for Achievement in Art — to ����Vlog student Gracie Korstjens ‘24 and ����Vlog faculty member John Henry Peters ‘76. The two were awarded the prestigious medal during the opening reception of the ����Vlog Senior Show at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery on Friday, April 26.
