I love looking at papers during every stage of the writing process! I’m comfortable with looking at papers from all fields and topics but am most experienced with biology reports, CIVITAS, sociology/psychology and FYS papers. I prefer working with MLA, APA and J.Cell citation styles.

Amina Koch — Assistant Director

I love tutoring at all stages of the writing process, but I am particularly fond of outlining, organizing and brainstorming. I am most familiar with MLA style, but I have experience working with all kinds of papers. As a fourth-year Spanish major, I can also help with composition assignments in Spanish. Though I primarily do literary analysis for my own essays, I love to work with FYS and research papers.

Jocelyn Baas — Assistant Director

Majors: English and Spanish major, with writing and pre-law emphases

I am a flexible tutor who is willing to take a look at almost anything with which you need help. My favorite writing subjects are English, government/law, social studies, journalism and Civitas. I was also pre-med at one point and can navigate STEM assignments. Essentially, feel free to bring me any subject and I will give it my best. I am familiar with most major citation styles – MLA, APA, Chicago – but am willing to learn new ones as needed. I thoroughly enjoy every stage of the writing process; that said, I do particularly like “clean-up,” fixing grammar errors and adjusting sentence structure.

Hi! I love to read and write, so you're in the right place. I have plenty of experience with general papers as will as FYS essays ranging from any topic. I specialize in news writing, journalism, AP style, literary analysis and dabble in some government & international affairs papers as that used to be my major/minor). Even if I didn’t mention it as an interest, I am willing to tackle anything you send my way, whether you just want me to skim over writing or to help you brainstorm an entirely new piece! Hello! While I’m happy to work with you on any paper or project, I feel most comfortable working with papers written in MLA and Chicago styles. My favorite part of writing is making tiny grammar corrections, fixing the “flow” of sentences and paragraphs, and finalizing papers for submission. However, I can also appreciate the power of a complete revision when necessary. I’m ready to learn and be challenged this year; I hope you are too!
